An initial investigation into the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Mangaluru, M.K. Ganapathy’s suicide suggests the alleged involvement of Congress leader KJ George. Dy SP Ganapathy had alleged that he was being harassed by two senior IPS officers and a minister in a media interview hours before he hanged himself to death.
This is the second such case in Karnataka within a span of seven days. Earlier on Tuesday, Kallappa Handibagh, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Chikkamagaluru, who was accused of taking Rs 10 lakh as a bribe, was found dead at his relative’s place.
The postmortem has been completed at the Government Hospital at Madikeri and handed over to his relatives. Preparations are going on for the last rites of Ganapathy at his native village.
