Pakistan’s ‘Father Teresa’ Abdul Sattar Edhi dies in Karachi

Abdul Sattar Edhi, a famed philanthropist who achieved a saintly status in Pakistan has passed away in Karachi. He had been undergoing treatment for renal failure in Sindh. The news of his death has triggered a wave of accolades on TV and social media. Mr Edhi was known throughout Pakistan for his Edhi Foundation. The foundation runs a vast fleet of ambulances, orphanages and medical clinics across the country.
Mr Edhi’s funeral will be held on Saturday today which is expected to be one of the biggest in Pakistan’s history.
