India’s Vijender to take on Kerry Hope for title bout in Delhi

The national capital that faces political punches everyday is all set for a fight between two boxing champs. India’s Vijender Singh will face Welsh-born Australian boxer Kerry Hope in a title bout for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific super middleweight belt. The fight will take place at the Thyagaraj stadium on Saturday.

The Indian boxer, who is still undefeated in all his six pro boxing bouts after turning professional but this time, Vijender will be up against his most experienced and accomplished rival. Kerry Hope is a former WBCC European champion with 23-7 win-loss record. A win in Saturday’stitle fight will ensure Vijendra Singh’s entry into top 15 of the WBO world ranking and get closer to the world title fight. Apart from Main event, there will be six other fights, with boxers from the Indian Boxing Council’s stable and two Thai invites. There will be women’s exhibition bout as well.
