BJP leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned as Rajya Sabha MP on Monday today. If the reports are to be believed Sidhu is likely to join AAP which will contest the assembly elections in punjab next year in 2017.
Sidhu described his post as a burden on the treatment he received from his party members. Sidhu’s ties with the BJP had strained in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections after the party decided to field Arun Jaitley from Amritsar, a constituency he held from 2004 to 2014.
According to the sources, Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur a Parliamentary Secretary in Punjab SAD-BJP govt, may also resign.
