Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Gorakhpur today. The Prime Minister has also reopened a sick fertiliser plant after 26 years.
While, the establishment of new AIIMS will serve the dual purpose of providing super-specialty healthcare to the population while creating a large pool of doctors and health workers, the revival of fertiliser plant will create up to 4000 jobs and ensure an adequate supply of nutrients to the farmers of Uttar Pradesh.
The Gorakhpur Fertilizer plant was shut down in 1990, leading to thousands of jobs lost.
With the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections- arguably one of the most important ones before the 2019 General Election on the horizon, the BJP appears to be rushing into action
