People like Rajpal Yadav should go to jail, says SC

Comedian-actor Rajpal Yadav known for films like Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, Bhool Bhulaiyaa among others, has now been trapped in a legal controversy. Reportedly, the Supreme Court has slammed the actor over not settling his loans from a businessman.

“You have taken the court for a ride. People like you should go to jail. You filed undertakings after undertakings and still you have not paid the money. We will show you majesty of the law. This is inexplicable conduct,” a bench declared the judgment.

The actor and his wife had taken a loan of rupees 5 crores from a Delhi businessman on the name of his directorial debut Ata Pata Lapata. But since 2010, not only did he fail to return the said amount but he has also been alleged of filing false affidavits in the apex court in 2013 with fake signals High Court who accused Rajpal of resorting to false means and hence had even sentenced him to 10 days future of his wife. Later, the recovery suit filed by the Delhi business was moved to the contempt.
