Tussle over claims has become too common in India. While the country is busy settling Kashmir, West Bengal is in tussle with Odisha over ‘Rasogolla’. Odisha has claimed that the sweetmeat originated from the Jagannath Temple in Puri, where it is a part of the religious rituals since the 12th century. West Bengal says that it was confectioner Nobin Chandra Das, who created Rasgulla in the 1860s.
