The e-commerce giant Flipkart has asked around 1,000 of its employees to resign or take the severance pay, filtering for the best ones to be employed in the company.
This practice is a part to slim down the workforce of the organisation who have failed to meet the professional expectations. At present, there are around 30,000 employees in Flipkart, which means the decision is likely to impact 2.3-3.3 % of the workforce.
In February, Flipkart’s rival Snapdeal also took a similar decision when around 200 of its employees were asked to quit.
