Bhutan, land of the thunder dragons is all set to host a tournament on the Asian Tennis Tour (ATT) next month. This will be country’s first ever international tennis tournament which is scheduled to take place from September 16 to 18.
Nations like India, Thailand and Iran have already hosted a series of tournaments, both men and women, on ATT. Bhutan does not have any players either on the ATP or WTA ranking charts, singles or doubles. For a country which has no player ranked even on junior ranking, ATT will help the player from the region find a footing in highly challenging sports.
