Giant Pandas no longer endangered but Gorillas still are!

While panda lovers are celebrating the news of fight back of giant pandas from the list of endangered species, what is following is the bad news of world’s largest living primate still under the brink. The International Union for conservation of Nature which declared Pandas were no more included in the list of endangered species has cited the illegal hunting in downgrading the status of the eastern gorilla on its Red List. The positive comeback of Pandas has become possible due to effective efforts of the Chinese government to conserve this species. The increase in available habitat has led to a 17% increase in their population from 2004 to 2014.
However, eastern gorillas have seen 70% decline over the past 20 years which has lowered their numbers to just 5000 in the wild
