Wales began their World Cup qualifying campaign with a win against Moldova, continuing their fine form which they displayed in the Euro 2016. Gareth Bale dismantled Moldova with yet another fine performance, he ran the show providing an assist and scoring a goal. But this Wales team is not just about Bale, it’s about the team spirit, cohesive thinking and quality which helped them secure a comfortable win with a scoreline of 4-0.

In another qualifier, Spain ran riot against Liechtenstein as they began their World Cup qualifying campaign with a thumping 8-0 win in Leon. Seven of their goal came in a devastating second half display as the visitors crumbled after frustrating Spain early on. David Silva, Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata all scored twice while Sergi Roberto and Vitolo also got on the scoresheet in the group G opener.
