Deepa Malik has added another medal in India’s tally by winning silver in shot put. The 45-year-old wheelchair-bound adrenaline junkie from Gurgaon has made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Paralympics. She clinched the silver at the 2016 Rio Games with a personal best throw of 4.61m in the women’s shot put – F53 final event.
