Leicester city in their first ever champions league game started off with a flyer, winning 3-0 against the Belgium side Club Bruges.

The holders Real Madrid earned a hard fought victory against Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese club opened the scoring in the 46th minute before CR7 scored with a wonderful free kick in 89th minute to tie the game. Alvaro Morata headed home James Rodrigues cross in the 94th minute to settle the tie 2-1.

Manchester City under new head coach Pep Guardiola registered an emphatic 4-0 win against German side Monchengladbach. Sergio Aguero scored a hat trick and Kelechi Iheanacho scored in the dying moment of the game.
