Sensex trading flat, Rupee up 16 paise against dollar

On Friday, the Sensex and Nifty have been trading marginally down due to weak Asian cues. The 30-share BSE index Sensex is down 21.68 points or 0.08 per cent at 27,805.35. Among BSE sectoral indices, realty index gained the most by 2.25 per cent, oil & gas 1.35 per cent, PSU 0.86 per cent and infrastructure 0.81 per cent. On the other hand, metal index was down 0.04 per cent and healthcare 0.01 per cent. Top five Sensex gainers are GAIL, Infosys, State Bank of India, Wipro and ONGC (+0.84%), while the major losers are Adani Ports, Cipla, Bharti Airtel, Coal India and Dr Reddy’s. The rupee recovered 16 paise to 66.69 against the US dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on fresh selling of the American currency by exporters.
