Sri Lanka pulls out of 19th SAARC Summit

Sri Lanka on Friday today, has expressed its unwillingness to attend the upcoming SAARC Summit scheduled to take place in Islamabad in Pakistan in November saying the prevailing environment in the region is not conducive for holding the summit. Earlier, India had pulled out of the summit siting the gruesome attack at Uri sector that killed 19 soldiers. Immediately after that Bangladesh, Bhutan and Afghanistan had written to Nepal which is the current chair of Saarc. Showing difference Pakistan had announced it would hold the summit without these countries. However, after Sri Lanka pulling out of the summit there has been a big question mark on the fate of 19th SAARC Summit.
