Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices have been banned from Malaysian budget airline group Air Asia on any of its flights including its flight in India from midnight 17 due to safety concerns. The decision has come following the recent US Department of Transportation’s ban on the device and reports phones catching fire. The guests of Air Asia will not be allowed to board the flight with Galaxy Note 7 including recalled and replacement devices on their person, in cabin bags, in check-in baggage or as cargo.

Samsung had released the new Galaxy Note 7 in July but discontinued the product last week after unexplained overheating problems and fire incidents.
