Hillary Clinton’s campaign accused FBI Director James Comey of engaging in a “blatant double standard’’. Clinton’s campaign manager slammed Comey in the wake of reports that the FBI director refused to publicly comment on potential Donald Trump campaign ties to Russia’s but did weigh in on an updated investigation involving Clinton’s email server.

The email issue emerged in March 2015 when news broke out that Clinton had been breaking a federal rule by operating a private email server when she was secretary of state. Her lawyers provided 30,000 work-related emails, but her campaign deleted another 33,000 messages.

On Friday, FBI chief Comey released a statement that he had learned of fresh emails and renew the FBI probe into emails tied to Clinton.
