Virat Kohli was accused of tampering the ball during the second Test match between England vs. India by an English tabloid while suggesting that his actions were similar to that of Faf du Plessis. However, the allegation lead to nothing as the evidence was weak and did not hold much ground as per the specific clauses in the ICC’s rule and Regulation.
But that didn’t stop former Pakistani leg-spinner, Abdul Qadir, who urged all the boards to collectively appeal to the ICC and ban the Indian Test skipper. He went on to add ‘When it comes to banning a Pakistani player on bowling action or else than the ICC steps in promptly and puts a ban. But in the case of an Indian player, it backs out’.
