Bringing an abrupt end to the estranged relations between Shiv Sena and BJP, Shiv Sena has decided to fight civic polls alone. Sena MPs have decided to boycott a pre-budget meeting to be chaired by CM Devendra Fadnavis on Friday today. This has also put an end to the possibility of a tie-up between the two for civic polls in Mumbai and elsewhere in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday, had announced his party will contest the upcoming elections to municipal corporations and zilla parishads on its own. Udhav made it clear that Sena will not go the doors of BJP to negotiate and he does not appreciate anybody questioning his decision. BJP too has said that it’s in no mood to negotiate. In such a stalemate situation one can clearly predict more complications and problems emerging ahead of polls. Elections to the MCGM and other municipal corporations in the state including Nashik, Pune, Kolhapur and Nagpur are to be held on February 21.
